I struggled a lot to get this done. It was supposed to be a task for a college application. The idea seemed good at first, but then it got lost in the process.

I figured I would critique this one knowing exactly what the assignment was and analyzing how you approached it. I love the technique, the texture, the rigidness of it all; Stoic, motionless, the youth immortalized in some sort of marble. I like the stillness and desolation (a trademark of your work)

I like how the petrified transgressions are subject to attack, and how while most arrows have missed they have rendered the figured incapable of walking, moving... evolving.

If this youth represents authenticity as this was the topic of the assignment at hand, one can easily understand the discourse about it; an attribute worth of contemplation, a majestic caped figure to be admired, but hardly accessible and under attack by this invincible forces (society? parents? friends?) ready to wound and kill at any real attempt of display.

I would have loved to get a bit more detail on the painting of the rocks as they fade into the desolate mists, as they feel a bit cut and paste, losing the sense of depth of the whole image. But otherwise I find it technically great.

Overall, a beautiful contemplative and inspiring peace.
